ANOTHER RARE ANTIQUE DISCOVERED IN THE MEON VALLEY

Another local family were left stunned when an unusual stone figure, thought to be of the grand tour period, proved to be of an earlier date and sold at Hannam’s Auctioneers for £14,000 in their monthly three-day auction. Discovered when clearing out their relative’s house near Warnford, the family brought the 62cm high figure of a Roman male to Hannam’s saleroom in Selborne for a free valuation, without the thought that it would reach such a high total.
