DUTCH GLASS MAKES £30,000 AT LOCAL AUCTION ROOM

2019 could not have started any better for Hannam’s Auctioneers with a record breaking three-day, 2,949 lot auction. The biggest surprise came from two Dutch 18th century silver mounted green glass bottles, owned by a collector for thirty years and purchased for just £200. With four telephone bidders from across Europe, the two bottles made in Den Haag around 1680, estimated at only £800, sold for £30,000.

With other impressive four-figure results in the Oriental, Clocks, Tribal and Jewellery sections, Hannam’s offer a vast opportunity for customers to purchase all types of antiques and collectables across the three days.

Director Harry Hannam commented after the sale, “It was a wonderful start to what promises to be a great year for the auction room. To see many new faces, along with our regulars during the view and sale days is fantastic. It shows that we have antiques that people are interested in, and more importantly willing to travel to come see. We have a positive atmosphere here, with free refreshments and accommodating staff, we want to make the public feel at home.”
