NEW YEAR, NEW RECORDS AT HANNAM’S

The staff at Hannam’s could not have asked for a more successful start to their new year. Their first fine art auction of the New Year, consisting of 2,529 lots of antiquities from across all continents of the world, produced record hammer results. With many items selling for over £2,000 and not having to rely upon one large estimated item, it showed that the market for a vast majority of antiques and collectables is still very strong. Whether it was a good large 19th century Kanak ‘bird head’ tribal club from New Caledonia selling for £3,200, to a Russian 14ct yellow gold red enamel and diamond box and cover for £5,500, or an extremely rare Louis Vuitton ‘Malle Fleurs’ miniature flower trunk, created by Vuitton as a corporate gift selling for £8,000, every category appeared to have a successful result over the three days of auctioneering.

Despite the great results, Hannam’s still offer excellent value in their items for sale, especially on the third day. From paintings, to furniture and group lots, these lots can sell for just pound meaning it is not just the consignor walking away happy at the end of the day.
Hannam’s invite the public to their saleroom in Selborne throughout the week and they also offer free valuations every Monday from 10am till 2pm. Their next Fine Art auction will be on 28th February, 1s & 2nd March, with viewing starting on Monday 26th February from 10am.
