ROLEX JACKPOT AT AUCTION

The first auction of the new decade proved to be Hannam’s Auctioneers greatest, with nearly 3,200 items being auctioned off over three days and fantastic results in all categories. With bidders in the room, 6918 approved registered bidders online, and 81 telephone bidders, there was plenty of competition and excitement in the Selborne auction room.

Two privately consigned Rolex’s from an estate near Ropley gained a lot of interest ever since the auction was posted online in December, with collectors coming to the saleroom to bid on the two pieces in person. The 1950’s GMT Master ‘Pepsi dial’ wristwatch sold in the room for £11,000, whilst the 18ct Oyster Datejust wristwatch sold to a separate bidder in the room for £5,500.

Another clock, also locally consigned from a collector, was a beautiful Viennese silver and enamel four-sided clock. It was purchased via a European telephone bidder for £13,500, who will be flying over for Hannam’s next three-day auction in February, as more clocks from the private collection will be consigned.
