In 1725, a Chinese merchant junk boat en route from Canton to Jakarta tragically sank due to an on board fire off the Ca Mau peninsular in Southern Vietnam. Its cargo consisted of chinaware, porcelains, blue and white ware, porcelains decorated in brown, white-glazed porcelains over-glazed with enamels, and various stoneware.
