LARGE COLLECTION OF CHINESE SHIPWRECKED PORCELAIN SOLD AT HANNAM’S

In 1725, a Chinese merchant junk boat en route from Canton to Jakarta tragically sank due to an on board fire off the Ca Mau peninsular in Southern Vietnam. Its cargo consisted of chinaware, porcelains, blue and white ware, porcelains decorated in brown, white-glazed porcelains over-glazed with enamels, and various stoneware. Discovered by Vietnamese fisherman in 1998 after their nets were snagged on the wreck, the resurfacing of the cargo began....

SÈVRES PORCELAIN TEA SET SHOCKS AUCTION
